Transparency Statement

The OMONOIA Foundation is committed to full transparency in the conduct of its charitable activities, financial management, and governance. This statement outlines how we operate with honesty and accountability to our donors, beneficiaries, partners, and the wider Cypriot community.

1.  Our Mission and Values

The OMONOIA Foundation is the charitable arm of OMONOIA FC and operates under the principle that “where sports meets humanity.” Our mission is to harness the power of sport and community spirit to support vulnerable individuals and groups across Cyprus, with a focus on health, social inclusion, youth development, and humanitarian assistance.

2.  Governance Structure

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for overseeing strategy, resource allocation, and compliance. Key governance principles include:

  • Independence of charitable decision-making from commercial football operations.
  • Annual review of programs and expenditure by the Board.
  • Compliance with applicable non-profit and civil society law in the Republic of Cyprus.
  • Regular internal reporting on impact and program outcomes.

3.  How Donations Are Used

All donations received through our website, events, and campaigns are directed toward the Foundation’s charitable programs. These currently include:

  • The MOIRAZOME sharing program – supporting vulnerable families in collaboration with the Cypriot Red Cross.
  • Bone marrow donor registry awareness and medical support campaigns.
  • Hospital visits and gifts for children receiving treatment at partner medical facilities.
  • Sports inclusion and accessibility programs (e.g., Ablebook partnership).
  • Emergency humanitarian support and community response initiatives.

The Foundation commits to maintaining a reasonable administrative cost ratio and to applying the majority of funds raised directly to program delivery.

4.  Fundraising and Payment Processing

Donations are processed through JCC Payment Systems, a regulated Cypriot payment institution. The Foundation does not retain full payment card details. Donation records are maintained in accordance with applicable accounting and tax law.

We do not engage third-party commercial fundraisers on a commission basis. All fundraising is conducted directly by Foundation staff and volunteers.

5.  Partnerships and Sponsors

From time to time, the Foundation collaborates with partner organisations, sponsors, and public bodies. Where such relationships exist, we disclose the nature of the partnership where relevant to program activities. No partner relationship influences the Foundation’s independence in determining who receives support.

6.  Conflict of Interest

All Board members and staff are required to declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest. Decisions involving a conflict are managed in accordance with our internal conflict of interest policy, which requires recusal from relevant decisions and transparent documentation.

7.  Reporting and Accountability

The Foundation is committed to publishing or making available upon request:

  • Annual activity reports summarising programs, beneficiaries reached, and key outcomes.
  • Financial summaries appropriate to our size and legal obligations.
  • Information about our major donors, sponsors, and institutional partners where consent has been given.

We welcome enquiries about our work and financial stewardship from donors, beneficiaries, media, and members of the public.

8.  Complaints and Feedback

We value feedback and are committed to continuous improvement. If you have a concern about any aspect of the Foundation’s activities – including fundraising, program delivery, or data handling – you are encouraged to contact us directly. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and to resolve them within 30 days.
